From the Sandhills to Creighton: A tradition of giving
Amid the windswept Nebraska Sandhills, the members of the O'Kief family have been devoted stewards of the land for over a century. Their legacy of hard work and commitment to conservation at the O'Kief Brothers Ranch now extends beyond ranching. As part of their family estate plan, they named Creighton as a beneficiary, including generously donating cattle and funds to establish and support a scholarship.
A Grit Scholar’s nursing journey
Ola Hezel, a senior in Creighton’s College of Nursing and Grit Scholar, has cared for patients at life’s most tender moments. Through leadership roles and clinical experience, she’s learned the power of compassionate care — a lesson she’ll carry into her nursing career at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Heider senior Henry Boulay’s journey to Creighton began with a surprise — a Grit Scholarship that made him “all in for Creighton.” Now starting his career in financial planning, he is grateful for the community and opportunities the scholarship made possible.
