Annabelle Walsh Newcomer, BS’23, a current School of Dentistry student, was “one of those kids who applied to 20 different colleges. Fortunately, one of them was Creighton. It felt like home from the moment I first visited the campus. And they offered me a scholarship.”
Creighton was just the right fit.
The San Diego, California, native was likewise initially unsure what she wanted to do with her life, only that she intended to “join a profession that would directly impact people’s lives.”
“Creighton really gave me the opportunities to feel out all the different pathways,” she said. “I must have switched majors three times when I was an undergraduate.”

Health Administration & Policy was just the right fit.
Many people meet their future spouses in college. More people meet their future spouses at Creighton. (We have no statistical or empirical basis for this statement. It’s just something we feel in our hearts. Like love.)
For Annabelle, Logan Newcomer, BA’23, JD’26, was just the right fit.
They met while in the same Ratio Studiorum Program, an academic advising and plan of study program for first- and second-year students.
“It’s a total textbook Creighton love story,” Annabelle said. “We met freshman year and have spent the rest of our time at Creighton together.”
Like so many Creighton couples, they were wildly academically, socially and professionally busy.

Annabelle was in the College of Arts & Sciences Honors program, the Tri Delta Sorority, the Blue Crew spirit squad and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Nebraska Medicine while also serving as a biology tutor and teaching assistant.
Logan was also in the College of Arts & Sciences Honors program, the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and worked as a Boys Town youth supervisor, residence hall desk receptionist and Reinert-Alumni Memorial Library student assistant and supervisor.
Like so many Creighton couples, their student experience was all the stronger and more meaningful because it was shared.
However busy they were, Annabelle and Logan always made an effort to attend Tuesday night student Mass at St. John’s Church. They were eventually married there.
Today, they’re a future lawyer from Kansas and a future dentist from California building a life together with their 1-year-old daughter Clara (from Nebraska).
Like so many Creighton couples, they plan to stay in Omaha.
It's just the right fit.
