The Harper Family Foundation Nursing Scholars, a premier merit-based scholarship program, raises the Creighton College of Nursing’s national prominence.

The program is made possible through the leadership and transformational generosity of the Harper Family Foundation, named for the late Charles M. “Mike” Harper, HON’95, and Joan F. “Josie” Bruggema Harper, two visionary supporters of Creighton University.

The Harper Scholars program seeks to attract outstanding students who aspire to fulfilling careers in a world direly in need of nurses. Students grow into deeply knowledgeable, skilled practitioners with a commitment to providing holistic, compassionate care.

The program is the first at Creighton to provide full tuition for four years to College of Nursing students.

FOR AND WITH OTHERS

“I love it at Creighton. People care about each other here, and they teach you how to care for others the best way you can.

“The support of donors makes the Creighton experience possible — for me and for thousands of other students. Without my scholarship aid, I don’t think I’d be at Creighton. It eases the stress on my family and makes this possible. The least I can do, in return, is work hard and do my best.”

— Robyn Acob, College of Nursing

Far beyond Creighton

The effect of scholarships goes far beyond Creighton.

As Creighton President the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD, says, “the world needs more of what Creighton does” —

Forming women and men ready to join you as Jesuit-educated leaders caring for our communities, carrying forth our mission. A better world, one Creighton graduate at a time.

"This experience means the world to me. I'm forever grateful for my scholarship, not only for the good it did for me but for the care I'll now give thousands of patients throughout my career."

— Sarah Seifert

"Being a Creighton-educated nurse means giving something more in how we care for our patients. Because of the generosity of the Harper family, I'm learning to be the kind of nurse who cares for the whole person — mind, body and soul.
