Rumor has it that when he would sit in Becker Dining Hall at lunch, he’d be watching for me to come in and then he would sing ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder to his table of friends.

Like more Creighton couples than you might expect, they met in Gallagher.
Elizabeth Padomek, BS’06, and Kent Padomek, PHARMD’08, were freshmen living in the dorm. That first semester, Kent was constantly teasing Elizabeth, and, she says now, she found him obnoxious. Yet it was a sweet, romantic kind of obnoxious.
“Rumor has it that when he would sit in Becker Dining Hall at lunch, he’d be watching for me to come in and then he would sing ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder to his table of friends,” Elizabeth says.
Kent and Elizabeth started dating after their first winter break and have been together ever since. They now live in Omaha with their three children.
They recently showed their kids the first family home, getting one last look at Gallagher before it comes down.
“I loved Gallagher,” Elizabeth says, “because it was such a close-knit community. Everyone knew everyone (and what floor they lived on).”
A few more Gallagher memories:
- The prank war between the two men’s floors, battles of which included stolen shower curtains and possums released in the bathroom.
- G5 residents holding chair races down the Mall.
- Right before summer move-out freshman year, when Kent put a “For Sale” sign in his Gallagher room window facing 480.
