Featured Testimonial About Creighton University
Creighton students are seeking professional experiences during their longer-than-usual winter break to make up for lost opportunities and wages.
“We know, anecdotally, the biggest impact on students in the job market has been the number of internships that were canceled or moved remotely due to Covid-19,” Jeremy Fisher, Director of the John P. Fahey Career Center said.
Fisher and his staff remain committed to assisting students and alumni in exploring purpose and opportunities. The team is once again encouraging Creighton alumni to submit paid and unpaid positions and projects they may have to the Career Center.
“This past summer, we reached out to alumni on LinkedIn to cultivate opportunities for our students, to help them gain experience, and to grow their network as the economy adjusted,” Fisher said.
Through some creativity, employers are now offering micro-internships or short-term professional assignments, virtual projects, and other innovative opportunities that fulfill their needs while offering students a meaningful experience.
“Creighton alumni can help students gain valuable real-world skills and build their resume,” Fisher said. “Alumni also benefit from students sharing new tools and skills, research, analysis, and bringing an outside perspective and feedback on common challenges we are facing in the workforce and as a society.”
