On Thursday, Sept. 12, Creighton University formally broke ground on a new 400-student residence hall for sophomores, set to open in the fall of 2026.

Creighton commemorated the occasion with a small gathering at the site of the future residence hall, on N. 21st Street between Cuming and Burt Streets, with dozens of alumni, friends, students, faculty, staff and University leaders attending.

University leadership, including Executive Vice President Jan Madsen, Board of Trustees chair Diane Duren, BSBA’81, and Creighton President Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD, break ground on the new hall.

Various University leaders made short remarks at the event. Including Creighton President the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD:
