As Bluejay basketball heats up, so does an engaging discussion about the human and cultural significance of sports.
Join us for an evening with Rev. Patrick Kelly, SJ, PhD, the newest holder of the Charles and Mary Heider Endowed Jesuit Faculty Chair. Fr. Kelly will draw on the role of sports in Jesuit schools historically, and the flow psychology theory of his mentor Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi to help us understand how participation in sports can foster human flourishing and contribute to the common good in our own context. The lecture will have relevance for sports participation at all age and skill levels.
Event Details:
- Lecture Title: Sport, Human Flourishing, and the Common Good: A Jesuit Perspective
- Date: Tuesday, February 24
- Time: 5:30–7:00 p.m.

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A with Fr. Kelly and a complimentary reception, offering time to reconnect with fellow alumni, students and faculty while engaging with Creighton’s Jesuit mission in a thoughtful and accessible way.
We hope you’ll join us for this timely conversation — one that reflects the heart of a Creighton education and the values that continue to unite Bluejays across generations.
