Cassidy Nipp, BSN'25 is an Omaha native who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Creighton University in May 2025. Her experiences at Creighton shaped her commitment to service, which she lives out as a pediatric nurse, through engagement with local organizations, and by finding renewal in running and time spent outdoors. She’s grateful to be a part of this event and reconnect with the mission that continues to guide her journey.
Dr. Michele Bogard, Associate Vice Provost for Student Life— As a product of formal Catholic education for 12 years, Dr. Bogard’s faith formation has come from working at Creighton University for the past quarter of a century. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, she thought she’d be at Creighton for a year or two and then move home. Little did she know how Creighton and Ignatian spirituality would alter her life plans! From accompanying students on Campus Ministry retreats, learning from former student/staff members who are now Jesuits, to working the Spiritual Exercises with the Deglman Center, she aspires to be a lifelong learner. Her day job is basically going to lots and lots of meetings with students, faculty and staff to ensure the student experience is one that St. Ignatius would be proud of.
Father Larry Gillick, SJ, a Milwaukee native, entered the Society of Jesus in 1960 after attending Marquette Jesuit High School and St. Norbert College. He earned his bachelor's degree from St. Louis University in 1966 and taught at Campion Jesuit High School in Wisconsin for three years. Ordained in 1972 after completing theology studies at Regis College in Toronto, he then served for seven years as Spiritual Director for young Jesuits at the Toronto seminary. In 1979, he was assigned to Omaha as Spiritual Director for Jesuit Scholastics at Creighton University, later becoming Rector of the Jesuit Community at Creighton Prep in 1984. In 1991, he was named Director of the Deglman Center for Ignatian Spirituality at Creighton University, a role he continues to hold. Father Gillick remains active in spiritual direction for students, faculty, and alumni of Creighton, as well as leading retreats and days of reflection across the country.
Father Greg Carlson, SJ, a Jesuit for 66 years, is an award-winning educator with a doctorate in the Classics. He has worked in the formation of younger Jesuits and with faculty and students in retreats and spiritual direction. He is an avid collector of Aesop’s Fables, with more than 11,100 books and thousands of related objects housed at Creighton and is happy to give tours of this collection. As a part of the Deglman Center he offers Spiritual Exercises groups for faculty and a course for students. Working with the Delgman Center gives Fr. Gillick and Fr. Carlson a license to do anything Ignatian and they have done just that.
