The selections continue Creighton’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX and are just the fourth all-female Creighton Athletics Hall of Fame class ever, joining 1987 (Mary Higgins), 1992 (Connie Yori and Mary Yori) and 1996 (Tanya Warren). This year’s inductees:
Carol Ketcham — or “Ketch,” as she’s known to just about everyone — worked at Creighton from 1970-2014. She is one of the most-tenured staffers in the history of the Athletics Department, working at various times as secretary, administrative assistant, athletic ticket manager, compliance, special events coordinator, director of special events, director of athletic development and Senior Woman Administrator.
Renae Sinkler-O'Gorman, BA’11, MS’20 (softball), starred on the diamond for the Bluejay softball team from 2007-10, then contributed to the program’s success as an assistant coach from 2012-21. She won a title in each of her four seasons with the Bluejays as a player, as Creighton won three straight regular-season crowns from 2007 to 2009 and Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championships in 2007 and 2010.
Megan (Bober) Varasteh, BS’13 (volleyball), starred as a member of the Creighton volleyball program from 2008-12, becoming the program’s first player to earn AVCA All-America honors multiple times. Her senior year, she became the volleyball program’s first woman named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year as well as MVC Tournament MVP.
