Featured Testimonial About Creighton University
Each spring, Creighton celebrates the generous donors who continue the University’s long legacy of making life changing, higher-education experiences available to talented students.
On April 8, more than 300 donors and students, University leadership and trustees, as well as former Nebraska governor and senator, the Honorable Ben Nelson and former Nebraska first lady, Mrs. Diane Morin Nelson attended the Annual Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon.
During the event, donors see firsthand the importance of their gifts in the stories shared by student scholarship recipients. Heider College of Business junior, Rourke Jensen, served as the event emcee.
“Creighton created an intense feeling of belonging from the beginning,” said Jensen. “However, no matter how strong this feeling was – I could not have chosen Creighton without scholarships. I am grateful to the donors who allowed me to follow my heart.”
Through scholarships, the number one priority for the Forward Blue campaign, alumni and friends provide students with irreplaceable educational experiences that shape their dreams and set them on the path to lifelong success.
About 98% of Creighton students receive financial aid or scholarships. Since the launch of the campaign last October, donors have established 340 new academic and athletic scholarships.
“The University’s historic campaign has provided our Creighton community with another profound sense of common purpose,” said Creighton President the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD.
“It is gratifying to see our alumni and friends extend a helping hand to current students. There is something very ‘Creighton’ about that.”
