Creighton's key ambassadors
Creighton University established the Council of Regents in the spring of 2024, joining other Jesuit institutions with prestigious and impactful Regents programs, including Georgetown, Boston College, Santa Clara University and Fordham.
For Creighton’s Council, a select group of alumni, parents and friends were chosen for their reputation in their respective communities and/or professions; for their capacity to bring diverse and unique perspectives to the work of the University; and for their ability to serve as Creighton’s most effective ambassadors and benefactors.
Regents will receive an immersive and interactive experience that highlights the work of distinguished faculty and students.
Council of Regents Objectives
1. Increase their knowledge as ambassadors to promote Creighton’s mission and priorities to others;
2. Take part in immersive experiences to model practices of reflection and discernment that are hallmarks of Jesuit education;
3. Engage with programming that highlights faculty and students from across the University;
4. Continue to make Creighton a top philanthropic priority, including support of the University's immediate needs and significant longer-term commitments.
The Council of Regents is not responsible for governing, and members are not guaranteed future appointment to the Board of Trustees.
Voyage Weekends
Each year, Regents will visit Creighton’s Omaha campus for two in-person "Voyage Weekends,” one in the fall and one in the spring, with an additional virtual assembly mid-winter.
Each weekend will feature an engaging curriculum-based exploration of the University, deepening the Regents’ understanding of its mission and priorities.
The inaugural Voyage Weekend will take place on Oct. 3 and 4. More info coming soon.
"It is my hope that your term as a Regent will draw you even closer to the University and leave you even more committed to its success."
— The Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD, Creighton University President
