Photos of campus construction

Maybe you’ve noticed. Out on the east side of Creighton’s campus, there’s a lot going on: a new residence hall, a new park, new athletics fields and a new student-athlete center.

This springtime photo gallery arrives just in time to provide some updates on the progress.

No hard hats needed. Just scroll and enjoy.

Magis Hall

The new sophomore residence hall, opening in time for the start of the fall semester, will house more than 400 students and include communal study spaces for residents. It’s located along 21st Street, between Cuming and Burt Streets.

Creighton Quad

It’s one of the most sweeping projects in Creighton's 147-year history. Right across the Mall from the Ahmanson Law Center (and in between McGloin Hall and the Mike and Josie Harper Center), will be 5.7 acres of green space. Plus, an amphitheater, pavilion, stage, a fountain plaza, and an ellipse with an art installation. The Creighton Quad is scheduled to open later this year.

Creighton Softball Stadium

The Bluejays have spent all spring playing their home games inside this new state-of-the-art facility, located on the corner of 20th and Burt Streets. The softball team’s final home weekend series of the 2026 season takes place May 1-3 against DePaul.

Baseball practice field

The new practice field for the Bluejay baseball team will also serve as the principal location for teams preparing to compete in the NCAA Men’s College World Series. The practice field, with its dimensions mirroring the layout of Charles Schwab Field Omaha, is set to open in June. It’s located on the corner of Cuming Street and Florence Boulevard. The project strengthens Creighton’s longtime partnership with CWS Omaha, Inc.

The Bill

Named in honor of the late Bill Scott, a longtime donor and friend of the University, The Bill will be a 50,000 square-foot athletics facility for Creighton’s 300-plus student-athletes. The building, located at 20th and Burt Streets, will sit immediately west of The Ruth, Creighton’s volleyball and women’s basketball practice facility that’s named for Bill’s wife, Ruth Scott. The Bill is expected to open in 2027.
