Featured Testimonial About Creighton University
Creighton has a strong mission to help others and serve both students and the community. Ultimately, that’s what makes the University and the School of Dentistry a great place to work and be a student.
Adjunct Assistant Professor Andrea Hall, DDS, and Associate Professor Kirstin McCarville, DDS, MS, exemplify the passion, drive, and dedication to service guiding the Creighton ethos. The board-certified prosthodontists have worked together to rewrite the school’s denture and implant curriculum, and, through an initiative led by Dr. Hall, introduced the first preclinical implant laboratory class offered at Creighton.
In addition to their curriculum redesign and enhancement, Drs. Hall and McCarville work with underserved populations as volunteers at the Omaha Reservation, Our Lady of Guadalupe Clinic, and the Siena/Francis House, where they teach students to fit the shelter residents with dentures. Dr. McCarville believes the service work offered to students, driven by the Jesuit, Catholic tradition of “men and women for and with others,” allows them to graduate with a new perspective on what they can do—and whom they can help—with their degree.
Creighton has a strong mission to help others and serve both students and the community. Ultimately, that’s what makes the University and the School of Dentistry a great place to work and be a student,” says Dr. Hall, who earned her DDS degree at Creighton and returned to teach. “The way Creighton values the community and individual students drew me here.”
As an institution with a history of academic excellence, Creighton is only as successful as its faculty. Through their ongoing work, and by consistently striving for more, Drs. Hall and McCarville epitomize what it means to be a Jesuit, Catholic institution.
OUR FACULTY HELPS ELEVATE TEACHING AND THE PROFESSION TO NEW HEIGHTS.
Building a strong faculty starts with hiring advanced, adaptable professionals. However, to develop leaders who can elevate our curriculum, teach lessons instilled with our Jesuit, Catholic beliefs, and inspire students’ passions for the dental arts, we must provide access to new technology, research methods, and opportunities to evolve.
Your investment helps us hire passionate leaders who inspire our students to question what dentistry can accomplish for the future of health care when human compassion comes into play.
