Decade in the Desert

Over 10 years, the School of Medicine in Phoenix has evolved from a few dozen medical students to a state-of-the-art health sciences campus educating hundreds of students in the Valley. What a decade it’s been!

We hope you’ll join us and your fellow alumni for a two-day celebration of our Decade in the Desert!

When: Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5

Where: Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Health Sciences Building, Creighton University Health Sciences Campus – Phoenix, 3100 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012; other locations

What: An evening reception with leadership, continuing education courses, networking with students, a volunteer opportunity with St. Vincent de Paul and the Phoenix ZooLights.

Admission: $100 for full attendance; $50 for guests (which includes admission to the evening reception, volunteer opportunity and ZooLights event). Admission includes food and drinks and bus transportation from campus to St. Vincent de Paul.

Friday, Nov. 4

5 to 7 p.m. — Evening Reception 
Second-floor terrace of the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Health Sciences Building
Light hors d’oeuvres, an open bar and a short program with Randy Richardson, MD, regional dean for the Creighton School of Medicine in Phoenix; and Bo Dunlay, MD'81, dean of the School of Medicine. 

Saturday, Nov. 5

9 to noon — Continuing Education Course and Networking with Creighton Students
Second-floor classroom of the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Health Sciences Building
Catered breakfast and to-go boxed lunch served.   

1 to 3 p.m. — St. Vincent de Paul Service Opportunity
420 W. Watkins Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003 (Transportation will be provided from the health sciences campus to SVdP.)   

5:30 p.m. — ZooLights
Phoenix Zoo, 455 N. Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85008
Tour a scene of dazzling animal sculptures and millions of twinkling lights at the Phoenix Zoo. Catherine M. Todero, PhD, BSN’72, Vice Provost for Creighton Health Sciences Campuses, will conclude our Decade in the Desert event with a sendoff. (Guests can register for just the Zoo Lights event here.)
