Creighton Crowdfunding provides faculty and staff members the opportunity to raise money to turn great ideas into reality. The fall Crowdfunding Campaign will kick off on Monday, October 29 and end on Tuesday, November 27.

The application deadline is Friday, October 12.
- Projects seeking crowdfunding must be affiliated with Creighton University and nonprofit in nature.
- Projects must have a sponsoring department, program or center in which donations can be deposited.
- Projects will need a project leader that are willing to help provide content for fundraising pages and market your crowdfunding campaign.

What is Crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is the practice of sourcing small contributions from a large number of people to provide funding for a particular project or campaign, usually via the internet.
What is Creighton Crowdfunding?
Creighton Crowdfunding is project-focused fundraising that enables faculty and staff to raise money to pursue meaningful projects that make an impact—on campus, in our communities and in our world.
How does Creighton Crowdfunding work?
Faculty and staff will work with University Relations to create fundraising campaigns for specific projects with a specific funding goal.
Where will my donation go?
Your donation will be deposited with Creighton University and distributed to the school or college, department, program or center that aligns with your selected project.
How do I make a contribution?
- Go to the project page of your choice.
- Click the “Give Now” button.
- Select the button for the donation level of your choice.
- Fill out your information.
- Click the “Give Now” button again and you’re done!
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes, contributions through the Creighton Crowdfunding platform support specific areas of the University and are therefore eligible for income tax deductions as allowed by law.
Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?
Yes, Creighton will send you a gift receipt via email for tax purposes.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card will be charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the website.

Does my gift count toward my senior gift?
Yes, all crowdfunding gifts made within the current calendar year count toward your senior class gift.
Is my gift eligible for employer/corporate matching?
Yes. However, it can take several months for employers’ matching funds to reach Creighton. In the event the match does not arrive before the project deadline, it will be applied to the school or college, department, or program for future projects.
Is there an administrative or processing fee?
Yes, crowdfunding gifts made to the University are subject to a third-party processing and credit card fees.
What happens if the project is not fully funded during the campaign?
The project creators will receive all funding made to the project, even if the goal is not achieved.
How do I know what percentage of the money goes to the project?
All funds (100%) raised will be used for the project tasks and related expenses. Each project has a detailed budget breakdown and is approved by the crowdfunding committee.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can contribute?
Yes, there is a $5 minimum contribution amount required. There is no maximum amount and you can also make multiple contributions to multiple projects.
Does Creighton Crowdfunding store my credit card payment information?
No, Creighton Crowdfunding does not store any payment or credit card information.
What happens if a project exceeds the sepecified funding goal?
Each of the project teams has identified a set of baseline project tasks and goals in addition to a set of “stretch goals”. Should a project be fortunate enough to exceed its funding goal, the additional funds will be utilized to help the team reach the project stretch goals. Designation of unspent funds is determined by the project team in conjunction with the crowdfunding committee as part of the approval process.
Can I ask questions about projects?
Absolutely! You can submit questions and feedback to crowdfunding [at] creighton [dot] edu. Your question will be sent to contact on the project team.
How will I receive project updates?
If you support a project, you will receive emails whenever the project creator creates an update and when the project funding period ends.
