Dr. Tom Kiefer has a great sense of humor, and he enjoys it best when the joke’s on him. For example, when he calls Creighton’s Office of Alumni Relations, he identifies himself very simply … as the bald-headed dentist in South Omaha.
Beth Fink’s successful career as an educator is distinguished by her advance from teacher to assistant principal to the principal of the most diverse Millard District middle school—all by the age of 30!

Since earning her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Creighton University’s School of Nursing, Betsy Mohar Buschkemper, now a Family Nurse Practitioner has honed her considerable skills in patient assessment and management.

John Blazek earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Creighton University in 1977. From the beginning, his personal and professional insights and goals have been firmly grounded in the Creighton credo of service to others – his church, his family, his community and his alma mater. He has held steadfastly to these priorities, all while becoming a highly accomplished businessman.
An Alumni Merit Award is given annually to an outstanding alumna/alumnus at the respective school's/college's Alumni Reunion Dinner or other designated alumni event.
Criteria for the Award
Being a degreed alumnus/alumna of Creighton University.
Having provided distinguished service to the University and/or to his/her own community together with a way of life that clearly exemplifies the University Credo.
Having a personal quality that marks him/her as cultured and of high moral principles guided by the Jesuit ideals of being men and women for others.
Requirements
When completing questions 1 and 2 on the nomination form, it is critical that nominators provide specific examples of how the nominee meets the criteria for this citation.
A supporting resume/curriculum vitae must accompany the nomination.
