Judge O'Brien entered public service in 1948 in Sioux City, IA, during his career he served as United States Attorney, United States District Court Judge appointed by President Jimmy Carter and valued political organizer in the presidential campaigns for Robert F. Kennedy and George McGovern. Judge O'Brien has always been a champion for social justice and is known for making dramatic changes in prisoner rights for the Iowa State Penitentiary System.

Judge Douglas F. Johnson, JD'87
Judge Douglas F. Johnson of Omaha, a 1987 Creighton School of Law graduate. Johnson has served as a Douglas County Juvenile Court judge since 1994. He played a major role in implementing a Court Appointed Special Advocate Program (CASA) for Douglas County, which designates trained volunteers to look after the best interests of juveniles involved with the court system.
