She and her husband, Mark Rauenhorst, BA'75, donated a sculpture titled "The Spirit of Jesuit Education" to honor retiring president the Rev. John P. Schlegel, S.J., and his commitment to Creighton University. This annual event, held on Creighton's campus, connects individuals in the community who are homeless with social service agencies, employment opportunities and health care services. With more than 1,000 volunteers, including more than 40 Creighton nursing students and staff, Project Homeless 2011 was a huge success. |  | | St. Ignatius award winner | As a part of Creighton’s week-long Founders Week Celebration, Sue Selde, academic success coordinator for the School of Nursing, was presented the prestigious St. Ignatius Award at Mass at St. John's on Sunday, Feb. 6. The award recognizes members of Creighton's faculty and staff who live the spirit of St. Ignatius, founder of the Jesuit religious order. (Selde is pictured above with her husband, Bill, and the Rev. How Nurses Make Ethical Decisions." Attendees listened to nurse leaders discuss ethics within their organizations' fields of expertise. All speakers were Creighton alumni, faculty or students. See more photographs of the day. |  | | Welcoming a New Year | Creighton School of Nursing juniors are all decked out in their scrubs and raring to embark on a new academic year. See who these students are, and their hometowns here. The School of Nursing welcomed 399 traditional undergraduate students to the Omaha campus and 18 students to the Hastings, Neb., campus. They joined 116 accelerated nursing students and a large contingent of graduate students. There are currently 62 students pursuing a doctorate in nursing practice and 60 students pursuing a MSN. | |
