1,500 Degrees Awarded at Commencement

A total of about 1,500 degrees were conferred during Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 12, at the CenturyLink Center Omaha. University President Timothy R. Lannon, S.J., presided. What’s Your Green Dot?



Green Dot program

Creighton will implement a new Green Dot program this fall on campus. The program, used on campuses nationwide, encourages students to think about how they would react in a situation where violence could occur. New Master's Degree Program in Public Health



Online master’s degree program in public health

Creighton is launching a new online master’s degree program in public health (MPH). The program is one of only a few of its kind that does not require a residency. Enrollment is now open with classes beginning in January 2013. Find more information online here.



Sophomores Get Pre-Major Advisors



Pre-Major Advisors

Arts and Sciences students entering their sophomore year have an opportunity to select a Pre-Major Advisor (PMA). PMAs assist with major/career discernment and development of a four-year academic plan. Students who have not selected a PMA by Aug. 1, will be assigned to one. Helping Students with Financial Literacy



Financial literacy

Loan debt is a reality for many students in today's higher education environment. Creighton's Financial Aid Office can provide information and resources to help students manage their student loan obligation. In fact, the office offers educational support on a wide range of financial matters, from developing a personal budget to financing higher education. Learn More



Creighton Is Going Mobile



Creighton going mobile

Creighton is developing a series of mobile applications that will provide students with access to a variety of information (news, calendars, maps, shuttle routes, grades, athletic news, dining information) on their smart phones and other mobile devices. Learn More



Acknowledging Student Achievement



Readabout.me

Creighton uses readabout.me software to publicize student achievements (dean’s lists, graduation, national scholarships) online and to send that information to hometown newspapers. New Immunization Requirements for Students



New immunization requirements

Please note the new immunization requirements for students living on campus: Tdap vaccine (given after 2005); chickenpox vaccine (two doses) or history of illness documented by a physician; meningitis vaccine for students 21 and under (one dose given after age 16). Students can use their NEST account to update Creighton's Student Health Office or updated vaccine records can be faxed to the office at 402.280.1859. Questions? Call 402.280.2735 (option 4).



Students Earn Prestigious Honors

Six Creighton students recently received the University’s Presidential Mentoring Scholarship, another was named a Goldwater Scholar and two earned Fulbright Scholarships.



Creighton Awarded ‘Fair Trade’ Designation

Creighton is the first Catholic, Jesuit University to receive the “Fair Trade” designation from Fair Trade Colleges & Universities USA, a national initiative to promote fair trade principles, policies and actions on college campuses. Read More



Creighton Recognized for Going Green

Creighton was named in the Princeton Review's “Guide to 322 Green Colleges,” which recognizes the most environmentally responsible colleges in the U.S. and Canada. Creighton was the only school in Nebraska to be selected by the nationally known education-services company. Read More



Summer Sessions First Term Begins June 4



Summer Sessions 2012

The first term for Summer Sessions begins June 4, with registration open through June 7. Creighton offers more than 400 courses, special programs, and campus student activities through Summer Sessions. Students can take advantage of the tuition discount for Summer Sessions and the opportunity to accelerate their course of study.



Scholarship Winners and Donors Meet



Endowed Scholarship Luncheon

Donors who have contributed to endowed scholarships at Creighton University and students who benefit from those scholarships met over lunch on April 18 in the Harper Center on campus. More than 200 attended Creighton’s inaugural Endowed Scholarship Luncheon. Read More



Basketball Attendance Among Nation's Best



Basketball attendance

Creighton's average men's basketball home attendance of 16,665 per game in 2011-12 ranked sixth nationally, was the nation's largest increase from the previous season, and was the largest average for any non-BCS school in the country. Read More
