School of Nursing - November 2010 Newsletter

November 2010

Dean's Message
Dean Eleanor Howell, PhD, RN
October was a month of celebrations, renewing acquaintances and accreditation activities.

The Nebraska State Board of Nursing visited the School of Nursing on Oct. 26 and 27 to conduct a review of the school.  Creighton was last audited in 2003.

In April 2011, we will host an accreditation team from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). As part of the CCNE review process, our constituents have an opportunity to submit written comments related to the school's qualifications for accreditation status. The public comment period should begin about Dec. 1 and continue until March 11; please watch for the announcement.

These accreditation activities serve to demonstrate the School's accountability to the public and the nursing profession, as well as the quality of our educational programs, so we hope that you will participate.

Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving!

-- Eleanor Howell, PhD, RN
