Teaching & Learning Connections - October 2011

October 2011
About Us
The Office for Academic Excellence and Assessment (AEA) at Creighton University provides ongoing support and resources to enhance teacher effectiveness and student learning.

To learn more about faculty development programming, assessment, course design, student learning processes and/or effective teaching methods, or the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), contact Mary Ann Danielson at 402.280.2535.

an opportunity to connect
Creighton's campus is buzzing with activities — inaugural events, alumni weekends, and our educational vocation to instruct 7,730 students this fall. Teaching and learning are at the heart of our academic enterprise, and our mission reminds us, "Creighton exists for students and learning."

In support of our mission and in the spirit of "life-long" learning, this electronic newsletter will build on our previous Scholarship of Teaching and Learning newsletter to more broadly identify opportunities by which faculty may CONNECT with each other (Creighton colleagues, disciplinary communities, academic conferences) to advance our teaching, our students' learning, and our efforts at measuring how effectively both are occurring.

This newsletter will be distributed in October, December, February and April. To help us all CONNECT, please forward your suggestions for materials to be included, as well as your awards and honors, to Mary Ann Danielson at maddam@creighton.edu. As a campus, we should be celebrating our teaching and student learning successes!
