Thanksgiving Day Alumni Mass and Continental Breakfast
Alumni and their families are invited to join fellow alumni and the St. John's parish community for the annual Thanksgiving Day Alumni Mass and Continental Breakfast, officiated by the Rev. John P. Schlegel, S.J., Creighton University president. Breakfast will immediately follow in the V.J. and Angela Skutt Student Center, Mutual of Omaha Ballroom. Praying Online for Loved Ones Who Have Died
During November, the Catholic Church traditionally prays for the dead. Creighton University's Online Ministries offer a virtual "Book of the Names of the Dead," which allows people from around the world to e-mail names of those who have died to be included in the book -- and in prayer. (A Memorial Prayer Service is also set for Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at St. John's Church.)

Major Grant Funds Hearing Research
Creighton University will receive nearly $5.6 million over the next five years as part of a National Institutes of Health grant to study neurosensory hearing loss -- the type of hearing loss typically associated with aging. Read more.

Creighton Medical Center Renews Tenet Deal
Creighton University Medical Center has renewed its partnership with Tenet Healthcare Corp. The new agreement calls for additional capital investment in the hospital, expansion of primary care networks and improved faculty recruitment efforts. Read more.

A "W" Shaped Economy?
Creighton economist Ernie Goss, Ph.D., says the economy in a nine-state Midwest region is slowly expanding but is still very fragile. Goss explains that we might be dealing with a "W" shaped economy. What does he mean by that? Watch this short

Creighton Inks Downtown Stadium Agreement
Creighton has signed a 10-year deal to play baseball in Omaha's new downtown stadium -- TD Ameritrade Park. The Jays will play some of their home games in the new stadium when it opens in 2011 and all home games in 2012. Read more.

Creighton Earns 2008-09 MVC All-Academic Award
For the fifth time in seven years, Creighton has been recognized with the Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic Award. Bluejay student-athletes posted a 3.32 cumulative grade-point average over the 2008-09 academic calendar. Read more

Women's Soccer: Three Named Academic All-District
Creighton's Eden Hingwing, Kyla Hoskins (pictured at right) and Claire Zach were all named to CoSIDA's Academic All-District Seven Women's Soccer Second Team. Read more. Creighton (12-5-2 overall) plays Missouri State in the semifinals of the MVC Tournament tonight (Nov. 6) at Morrison Stadium, 6 p.m. start. The winner advances to the championship match on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. More women's soccer.

Men's Soccer: Finlay Named Academic All-District
Creighton sophomore Ethan Finlay has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII First-Team as voted on by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Read more. Creighton (7-3-4 overall) concludes regular-season play against Drake this Saturday (Nov. 7), with the MVC Tournament beginning Friday, Nov. 13, in Des Moines, Iowa. More on men's soccer.

Women's Basketball Tabbed MVC Preseason Favorites
The Creighton women's basketball team has been picked to win the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) as voted on by the league's coaches, sports information directors and media. Men's Basketball Picked Second In Preseason MVC Poll
The Creighton men's basketball team has been picked to finish second in the Missouri Valley Conference, according to the preseason poll of the league's coaches, sports information directors and media. Read more. Download the men's basketball media guide.

Creighton to Host MVC Volleyball Tournament
The Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Tournament will be held Nov. 26-28 at Creighton's Ryan Athletic Center and D.J. Sokol Arena. The Jays begin a four-game homestand against Drake this Saturday (Nov. 7) at 7 p.m. More on volleyball.
