Joseph A. Larson, of St. Paul, Minn., a third-year law student in the Creighton University School of Law has been selected as a recipient of the Burton Award for Excellence in legal writing. He is one of only 15 students across the nation receiving the award.

Richard De Mulder, Ph.D., professor of computers and law at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands, will present Creighton University?s annual TePoel Lecture at 4 p.m. Friday, April 3, at the Creighton University School of Law, room 124. The lecture titled, "The Eyewitmem Project, Measuring the Impossible," is free to the public. A reception will follow the lecture.

Judge Dragoljub Popovic of the European Court of Human Rights will address the topic of judicial discretion in the jurisprudence of that court during the annual Lane Foundation Lecture at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Creighton University School of Law, room 124. The lecture is free to the public. A reception will follow.

Creighton University Law Professor Raneta Mack was recently elected to a two-year term on the Board of Directors of Nebraska Appleseed.

The latest book by Creighton University Law Professor Michael Kelly, titled "Ghosts of Halabja: Saddam Hussein and the Kurdish Genocide," chronicles the story of the Kurdish genocide that was not told during the trial of Saddam Hussein.
